The New Fizzbook Spin
The Fizzbook Spin is the first mini-tablet PC for children designed with a measured and thoughtful approach to understanding the real needs of children and young adults. The Fizzbook Spin wasn't born in a lab, but rather purposely conceived through real research carried out with real teachers and young people in classrooms all over the world. The Spin's researchers travelled to schools and spent time living with and observing the interactions between students, their peers and siblings, teachers, parents and school administrators. This research has contributed to the development for an exciting tablet pc for children.

Designed for the real world
The way young people use technology means they want to share what they are doing, both with the people around them and online. They don’t want to sit at desks all the time, and the inclusion of a camera means the Fizzbook Spin needs to be used in all sorts of locations. With this in mind it was designed to pass a 50cm drop test, and has a water resistant keyboard, 4.5 hour battery life, surfaces resistant to reasonable damage and improved dust resistance. A built in carry handle improves handing, transport and sharing your screen with others.

Tablet mode
The tablet mode means the Fizzbook Spin is useable whilst being held in your hands, and does not tie you to sitting down to use it. Clicking and scrolling can be done with your finger tips and for more detailed entry there is a built-in stylus. Onboard handwriting recognition works for all applications, and give you options for joined-up or printed handwriting, or if required a virtual keyboard. All this functionality is complemented by an in built accelerometer, which rotates the screen so it is always the right way up for the person looking at it. This also means all features are available for left and right handed users.

Software
The aim of the Fizzbook is that you have an exceptionally usable netbook straight out of the box. So the on-board software suite has been designed so you have the productivity tools of Microsoft Works, the creative tools of Art Rage and the web camera, and education tools of the SMART Classroom suite without any additional software installation. These tools are underpinned with back-up software and a security suite option.
