AGILE SPONSORS LOCAL RUNNERS

Last year Agile ICT sponsored one of our local teachers (Vikki Haden-Brown from Red Barn Community Priamry School) to take part in The Great North Swim and the Great South Run. 

This year this sponsorship exteneded to two local teachers as they attempted the challenge of the Great South Run during October 2009. If you wish to help their cause, please feel free to visit their pages below and donate. Vikki is raising money for Meningitis UK and Ian is running for Cancer Research.

Maybe in 2010 we should have our own Agile Team of runners from schools across the county?

So, this year, after a lot of time thinking - well I do think slowly! I have decided to run for Meningitis UK. Their aim short term is to raise public awareness of the common symptoms of Meningitis. Long term they  are researching for a vaccine which will eradicate Meningitis.When I don't feel like going for a run I often think of the brave little girl I taught who survived Meningitis and the impact it has had on her and her family and friends lives. It would be amazing if one day no one has to suffer in the way they did.

Ian Addison, Hulbert Junior School, Waterlooville

This is my first ever running race and although I've been jogging for months, a couple of injuries along the way have made training a nightmare! I am still aiming for a great time, although I think completing it will my main target this year!!
